When applied to the skin, the incorporation of activated colostrum particles in the cream, the activated colostrum cream helped to alleviate symptoms of itching and redness in patients with certain types of psoriasis, solar dermatitis, eczema of unknown etiology and in wound healing.
Itch management Immunological Pathway
The pathway of itch, as well as probable role of colostrum components in itch management, is illustrated in the figure below. Lf, α-lactalbumin, and β-lactoglobulin, have been shown to be potent immunomodulators. Bovine β− lactoglobulin promoted in vitro proliferation of murine spleen cells and immunoglobulin M.
