Approximately 1 in 136 or 2 million people (0.74%) in the USA suffer from vitiligo.

The cost for treating vitiligo in the US depends on the treatment: Light or Laser Treatment ranged from $100 - $5 000, Topical Remedies from $20 - $300+ and Cosmetics from $25 - $35+ per patient.

For an area, less than 2.5 cm2, or less than one inch2, the cost is $3,500.

The starting cost of laser treatment is $150 or more per session, and patients often require 20 sessions or more.

Global Vitiligo Facts

The total number of people suffering from vitiligo is estimated at around 65-95 million people worldwide.

The findings show that from 0.5% to 2% of the population develops vitiligo, depending on the region.

Nearly 20% paid anywhere between $10-$20K, while another 13% paid more than $20,000 for vitiligo treatments and camouflage to date.

It is expected to grow from $1.4 billion in 2011 to $2.7 billion by 2019 at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 8.8%.
